THE VIEW takes part in the Ascona Tasting Safari!

Friday May 19th from 18.45 to 23.30 an important gastronomic event will take place at the Eden Roc Hotel in Ascona.

Participate this exciting Tasting Safari that will begin with a cocktail at the Eden Roc bar, and follow with a culinary expedition in the company of your ranger, of the hotel and what goes on behind the scenes. This adventure will take you through an oasis of ten restauranteurs, one of which is THE VIEW Lugano’s Restaurant and Chef Mauro Grandi, as well as a number of wine producers of the region, all offering the very best that their kitchens and wineries can offer. Enjoy a delightful, fun filled evening of fascinating encounters.

As the use of an electric Smart car is available to all guests staying at THE VIEW Lugano, those wishing to participate can drive to this Tasting Safari in Ascona themselves.

However, for those who prefer to be driven, THE VIEW Lugano can arrange a transfer to and from the event for it’s guests.

TICINO VEGETARIAN VEGAN DINNER BY LESLIE DURSO

With the rst Ticino Festival dedicated to the vegetarian world and to all those interested in tasty, healthy eating, comes a unique opportunity to sample the best of vegan cuisine, with famous Californian Chef Leslie Durso, who will be visiting our region.

Leslie is one of the most prominent personalities of the international vegan scene and an American TV star thanks to her live appearances on many TV channels such as e Food Network, Maxim, CNN and e Discovery Channel, where she shares her love of a plant based lifestyle with her delicious farm fresh recipes.

“ Ticino Vegetariano” is a new initiative by Sapori Ticino with the patronage of the City of Lugano, in collaboration with THE VEGETARIAN CHANCE created by Pietro Leemann the Godfather of the event and the rst vegetarian Chef to have obtained a Michelin Star in 1996, and Gabriele Eschenazi.

Tasting Dinner Antinori

“GUADO AL TASSO ESTATE” MARCHESI ANTINORI TASTING DINNER 06 November 2017 at THE VIEW Lugano  at 19.00

An exclusive enogastronomic evening with a 5 course Menu.

“Guado al Tasso Estate” is located near Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast, 96 kilometers (60 miles) to the southwest of Florence. The rolling hillsides slope gently towards the sea and create a micro-climate with unique characteristics.

Guado al Tasso, the most important of its wines, was produced for the first time in 1990 and takes its name from the badgers that can often be seen fording the various streams which ow through the property.

Bolgheri, the prestigious small appellation in which Guado al Tasso is located, was famous for its rosé wines until the 1970’s; for this wine, and for its white wines as well, it received appellation status in 1984, and this was then extended to the red wines of the area in 1994.

Enrico Chiavacci, the Director of Marketing for Marchesi Antinori, will be present for the evening and will introduce a selection of wines, highlight their characteristics and explain the choice of pairing with each dish.

Enogastronomic Truffle Evening

ENOGASTRONOMIC TRUFFLE EVENING IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CANTINA MARCHESI ANTINORI AND BIAGETTI TARTUFI

On 22 November 2017 at THE VIEW Lugano at 19.00, experience an unforgettable evening of culinary emotion, enriched with the aroma of the noble Biagetti Truffles and the great wines of the Marchesi Antinori. Biagetti truffles are for the most part, found in the Montefeltro Cantiano, Sant’Angelo in Vado and Acqualagna areas of the Marche region of Italy, where the earth gives the truffle its wonderful avor.

A prestigious white truffle that completes the selection comes from Alba. Emanuele Baldi, the Brand Manager of Prunotto by Marchesi Antinori, will be present at the event and will introduce a selection of wines, outlining their characteristics and explaining the reason why each wine is paired with its respective dish.

Chef Björn Van Den Oever in Lugano

For two months this summer in Lugano, Executive Chef Mauro Grandi of THE VIEW Fine Dining will be hosting special guest, German Chef Björn Van Den Oever and his fusion cuisine.

This creative and eclectic young chef is a traveler who has experienced many flavors and colors from all over the world. Chef Bjorn Van Den Oever is German, yet his professional training is almost totally oriental. At the age of 23, he left Germany to explore, spending 7 years in Asia, 2 years between Dubai and Doha and finally arrived in Zanzibar in January of this year, as the Executive Chef of Diamonds Star of the East and Diamonds La Gemma dell ‘Est.

The result of his exciting journey is an innovative cuisine that pays tribute to the best of what nature can produce, seasonality and the skills of the best gourmet producers.
